SERVICES
TRAUMA THERAPY
Trauma-informed therapy is a type of care within the mental health field that takes a root cause, whole-person approach rather than surface level presenting concerns.
-
The goal of trauma-focused therapy is to provide clients with a sense of safety, autonomy, collaboration, and trustworthiness. We will work together to find a pacing that feels best for you and your nervous system.
Unfortunately, we live in a society that is reactive to situations rather than proactive.
PTSD AND C-PTSD THERAPY
Exhausted looking behind your shoulder every few seconds to make sure no one is following you? You don’t have to live this way anymore!
-
Tired of needing to look for exits in new environments “just in case” something happens? You don’t have to live this way anymore!
I specialize helping trauma survivors by providing a space to process memories, manage symptoms like flashbacks, dissociation, guilt, and hypervigilance. In our sesssions we will utilize parts-work, inner child healing, and body-based modalities to release the burdens you have been carrying.
STRESS MANAGEMENT
It is possible to feel a sense of relief even with the rapidly changing political, environmental, and financial conditions in our society.
-
Together we will generate new competencies specifically for your lifestyle.
Whether this be stress from your workplace, relationships with family and friends, or the state of the world; we will identify triggers, develop coping skills, and build on strengths you already have to regain a sense of control, calm, and peace.
PSYCHEDELIC ASSISTED THERAPY
Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is an emerging therapeutic approach that combines the use of psychedelics and psychotherapy.
-
This type of therapy is for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and treatment-resistant depression (TRD).
I host in-person retreats for eligible individuals with specific concerns such as existential distress, past trauma/PTSD, identity exploration, and depression. Individuals will be vetted prior to the retreat to ensure strong group cohesion and safety for all participants.
BIPOC THERAPY
This modality accounts for systemic issues, microaggressions, and macroaggressions Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color experience on a daily basis.
-
I tailor culturally appropriate coping skills for each client to assist them in feeling empowered, validated, and supported.
I understand marginalized communities’ unique challenges and experiences being a BIPOC individual myself. I aim to create a safe and understanding environment my clients. You do not have to make yourself palatable. I want you to take up space in our appointments.
KETAMINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy.
-
KAP is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help eligible clients experience more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms. I take on the psychotherapy portion of the experience. This includes preparation, dosing, and integration.
Journey Clinical’s licensed providers will support you with medical interventions. This includes determining eligibility, developing a custom treatment plan, prescribing the medicine, and monitoring outcomes.
LGBTQIA2S+ THERAPY
For my Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Trans, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and 2-Spirit identities, I’m so glad you exist. You are welcome here.
-
In our sessions, you will not have to explain your queerness to feel heard, seen, and understood. I use my own queerness to help clients navigate systemic issues, build resilience, and live fulfilling lives. I will continually affirm and validate your identity while providing space to address unique challenges like discrimination, isolation, dysphoria, and family conflict.
THERAPY FOR DEPRESSION
Depression can feel heavy, bleak, and lonely. Some days it feels like the heaviness will never end. You don’t have to carry this weight alone anymore.
-
We will explore interpersonal difficulties and conflicts that may be intensifying depression. We will work together to identify the drivers of depressive thoughts, new ways to cope, identify needs for self, make meaning, uncover your core values, and set firm boundaries.
THERAPY FOR ANXIETY
Tired of feeling like a hamster on a wheel with racing thoughts? Can’t help but assume the worst of any situation?
-
We will collaboratively identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that exacerbate anxiety. This process involves developing new coping strategies, building emotional resilience, and learning to manage symptoms like worry, fear, and panic attacks. I enjoy using mindfulness and sensory srategies to help you stay grounded in the present.
GRIEF THERAPY
Grief comes in all shapes and sizes. This could be unexpectedly losing a friend, the death of a loved one, or a friendship breakup.
-
It could be from setting firm boundaries in interpersonal relationships, and the loss of a furry friend, fish, or reptile.
In our sessions, you do not have to worry about “bringing the mood down”, or “talking about it too much”. I offer a space to process sadness, work through the emotional stages of grief, and assist in the development of finding new ways of living after loss.
WOMEN’S ISSUES
Women experience a diverse range of issues. Not every woman will experience the same set of challenges as others.
-
This is due to proximity to power, social status, economic status, and adjacency to whiteness.
I utilize Alice Walker’s womanist framework when working with clients. Womanism focuses on intersectionality, community, and was specifically created for women of color who felt excluded from feminist values.
I offer an open environment for women to explore topics like bias, gender roles, bodily acceptance, autonomy, life transitions, identity pressures, aging, reproductive health, and equality.
WALK AND TALK THERAPY
Walk and talk therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves the client and clinician meeting in a natural setting instead of meeting via telehealth.
-
Tired of sitting in front of a screen? Do you find it difficult to maintain attention and eye contact when sitting for more than a few minutes at a time? Walk and Talk Therapy might be a great fit for you!
This form of therapy assists clients in utilizing both their mind and body while processing deep emotions. Additionally, your brain will be getting a flux of feel good endorphins and stress relief.
